Posting, for once

If you're reading this, then, well... cohost got set to read-only a few days ago. Other people have more stuff to say about it than me, but to sum up my thoughts about it, it felt like the only website I could really, truly post on. But... I never actually got around to doing that. So, in the wake of its eventual shutdown, I bungled my way through the Eleventy documentation and made this site. And when I say "made", I mean "completely redid the entire thing from the ground up".

You might have seen the previous version of this site before. It wasn't much. I think the reason I stopped working on it was because it was already getting to be too much for me, even with just two pages. I just needed something that could reduce all of that cognitive load. So after learning about how static site generators worked, I ended up landing on Eleventy, mostly because of this blog post by Ash. (Maybe I'll bite the bullet and also start using Tailwind CSS at some point...)

Anyway, I guess in the end, me doing all of this kind of shows how much cohost meant to me, in a way? I'm not a super social person. I get pretty anxious about putting myself out there. But I'm already missing what cohost was able to bring to the table... So here I am. Here's to posting!
