fallen london firmament mid-chapter 6 broad thoughts

something about fallen london's firmament arc is really hitting me now as i'm going through chapter 6 - the consequences of your actions feel much more narratively complex than in their previous major stories in which your decisions felt mostly for flavor or marked clear finalities for the player

the way that your decisions have an effect on not just what your character does, but also on what others think (your crewmates, the masses). you can't convince someone who doesn't like you to do something you want.

the way things evolve over time and the far reaching consequences of what you've done, not just acknowledged once and referenced again later to tie things in but shown multiple times as a direct result of your actions

the way each and every decision (including the decisions the other characters make, and the ones you've made before) weaves together to create some really narratively satisfying moments

anyway. it's really cool. i would love to see more of this even if i did kinda fall off as more of firmament released. play fallen london
